SAVE ASIA SOCIETY was founded in 1996 by like minded Doctors and headed by Dr. Sandeep Mhetre. The main activities were arranging of medical camps for the needy & poor people living mainly in the slums.
During the medical camps it came to our notice that a lot of people were suffering from chronic diseases like tuberculosis & mainly sexually transmitted diseases.
Inspite of taking treatment the rate of relapse was phenenominal & many a times fetal.
When the blood test were conducted 95 to 98% of them were infected with the deadly HIV virus resulting in AIDS. Disease like tuberculosis (T.B) World phenenominal and common which was most of the time fetal .
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
AIDS is a medical condition. A person is diagnosed with AIDS when their immune system is too weak to fight off infections. Since AIDS was first identified in the early 1980s, an unprecedented number of people have been affected by the global AIDS epidemic. Today, there are an estimated 33 million people living with HIV/AIDS.
Since the first cases of AIDS were identified in 1981, more than 25 million people have died from AIDS.
